The world's finest soap
Castile soap is undisputedly regarded as the mildest soap in the world, and the most suitable for sensitive skin.
Made from olive oil, Castile soap was named for the Castilla region in Spain, and exported for centuries to royalty throughout Europe. It became famous as the "Queen of Soap", but is rarely found today.
Because of its mildness, Castile soap became the soap of choice for babies and those with sensitive skin. It is also used to launder antique lace and linen.
Redgum's entire Castile soap range is made using the traditional cold process method, whereby glycerin forms as a by-product of soapmaking. The Redgum method ensures that the nutrients contained in the high quality ingredients remain intact, and that the valuable skin softening glycerin remains in the final soap bar.
We use extra virgin olive oil exclusively as our soapmaking oil and create beautiful aromas using high quality essential oils. The end result is a luxurious, long lasting soap that is gentle enough for all skin types.
Soaps are also available as an unscented "Just Soap".
